The main purpose of this data base was implement a
system that could track all the engineering changes per Finish Good
and follow up each one minimizing possible obsolescence making most of
them a running change and/or coordinating changes.
It was necessary to create some tables to input issues
information for every Finish Good such as Pending Engineering changes,
Items Pending for Scrap, Red Codes, Quality Issues, (Flags), Pre-Mas/
Mas Production Status etc.
By monitoring items and issues, the purchasing of
unnecessary Items which were obsolete or in process to be affected by
an Engineering Change, was avoided on its majority making the planning
more accurate minimizing item obsolescence and End Of life of Finish
Goods.
The ODBC Connections with JD-Edwards helped the database on manipulating
information to create accurate reports by using SQL language and
crystal reports.
